What is the ATN Research Registry?

The Autism Treatment Network (ATN) is a collaboration of Autism Speaks® and a ground- breaking network of hospitals, physicians and researchers at 14 sites across the United States and Canada. A large part of the network’s services is centered around clinical and health related research of individuals with autism. Behavioral and medical data from the care and outcomes of children seen in the network facilities is stored in a Registry Database and includes information on more than 6,900 children and teens ranging from 2 – 17 ½ years of age.

Scientiﬁc research and clinical study of autism plays a crucial role in ﬁnding answers, improving outcomes and advancing health. But research is time-consuming and costly.

Evidence-based independent research can require IRB approval, design study, subject cultivation, surveillance and assessment, staff for data collection and entry.

ATN Patient Registry Clinical Research

The ATN Patient Registry database is currently available for use in clinical research of autism-related issues. Researchers interested in utilizing ATN data for collaborative clinical research or in learning more about secondary data analysis opportunities may contact ATN@AutismSpeaks.org

ATN Data

Behavioral and medical data from the care and outcomes of children seen in the network facilities is stored in the database and includes phenotypic data on more than 6,900 patients ranging from 2 – 17 ½ years of age. Biomaterials are available from more than 250 patients and continues to grow.

Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
